Below is a carport conversion that was a key part of extensive renovations to the home. The roofline of the new garage matches the house and makes room for storage overhead.
Next are pictures before, during, and after a typical 2-car carport was converted in to an enclosed garage. This carport-to-garage conversion was a pretty standard one (including the building of a single side wall plus framing off the front for the garage door). To learn more details about this project, plus listen to the homeowner explain why he is now so eager to recommend our garage builders, click this link and scroll down to just below those 3 photos (to hear the audio & read the transcript): audio of Steve recommending our carport conversion contractor.

our garage builders converted this carport in to what you can see here.
By the way, you can hear even more audio testimonials at this link: audios of Kelly and of Ruth each recommending our carport conversion contractors. Next below is another freshly completed enclosure of a 1-car carport.

Here is another 1-car carport to garage conversion. This photo shows the renovation nearly complete.

Next, this ugly carport on a slope was enclosed. As part of the home improvements, the cement was also repaired (so there are no stains or cracks).
BEFORE:

The most unusual thing about this carport conversion was that it needed a custom garage door installed. (Look at the bottom of the garage door and notice that it is not rectangular).
AFTER:

This next carport was also converted to this garage (for a real estate investor to flip the home). The pastel blue paint of the house was also replaced with something much more neutral.

Finally, this last set of before and after pictures shows another 2-car carport converted to a garage. The building of this garage included a new brick wall to match the house. When you look at it, do you see any signs that this used to be a carport? AFTER:

This carport with partial sidewalls was enclosed &
converted in to a 2-car attached garage:

To see those images bigger, scroll down. Note that this renovation is almost complete as shown (except for some work on the interior of the garage plus some touch-up paint on the exterior).

As background, this homeowner is what we call a snowbird. He works as a CPA and is nearing retirement. So, he recently bought this home with plans to live here during the cooler months of the year. He values keeping everything simple, inexpensive, and with minimal maintenance requirements (especially during the hot summer months when he plans to live in another state).

So, in addition to building a garage from out of the carport, he asked for the big shrub on the left side of the carport to be permanently removed (not just trimmed back to make room for the construction). Also, for some natural light in the new garage, a small window would be added to that left side.

In addition to those slightly unusual details, this job is very typical of the kinds of renovations that our carport conversion contractors do month after month and year after year. The renovation will take several days of actual work (as well as several more days of waiting on the city inspectors to visit the site to approve the major stages of the process).

Last, the homeowner selected a modest exterior plus a very standard garage door. (You can even see the box for the new garage door opener in final photo below at the bottom left. It is a Liftmaster 8335W, which is one of the most popular.)

To see before and after photos of a much less typical carport-to-garage conversion, click here: extending a small carport to a 6-car garage. (That one even includes some photos of the interior of the completed garage.)
